BOLLETJESSLIKKERS HIER

From a Kindly Contributor in the Netherlands - Jack Breda returns! His last appearance on the Scamorama stage was in 2002, in JACK BREDA vs. SON OF SAVIMBI.

This story shows how you can make a fraudster go to Dubai and hold up a red balloon

The main characters in this role play:

Afeez Salau, our fine 419 fraudster
Steven Bossmann, business associate of Afeez, but probably the same guy

Jack Breda, thats me ;-)

It all started on a sunny day that I got an email from a Mr Afeez Salau offering me a US$ 10 (ten dollars) business opportunity. I replied, telling him that 10 bucks is not worth all the effort.

He then replied:

Afeez Salau

<afeezsalau@uk2.net>

Dear Jack Breda

Thanks for your mail.

All my details will be given you when I believe you are worth giving the trust.

Moreso, when we have agreed to carry on the business together.

Meanwhile, could you tell me your preparedness or otherwise no matter how little the amount may sound to you.

Thanks and waiting for further response.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,

I still don't understand that it is worth doing business for only 10 dollars !!!! I am only interested in transactions over 1 Million dollars. Even setting up an email address will cost more then 10 dollars. Are you sure you will pursue this?

J Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Sorry for the printer's devil. I actually went through the proposal I earlier sent you after being embarrassed by your comments on US$10.

Sorry once again, I am referring to Ten Million United States Dollars (US$10m).

If it is appeal to you, lets take it from there.

Thanks and waiting for your further response.

Yours Afeez.

Subject: Anoda problem

Dear breda,

I think we should make amends in this email lof a thing cause I dont know who is tracking my mails down.

I decided to use this private website for confidentiality.

could respond to my last mails here, concerning the agreement and the arrangement to travel to either Dubai or Bangkok.

Thanks for your understanding and waiting to hear from you.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,

please stop bothering me about email addresses. And what is ANODA problem as stated in your subject line? Who is Anoda? Please explain.
I asked you to send me a detailed overview of all your personal information and I am still waiting for that. I'd expect a more professional behavior as it comes to transactions of this magnitude. After having reviewed your information, I will decide whether or not I will be traveling to Bangkok.

I expect your reply before the end of this business day.

best regards,
Jack Breda

Jack Breda

Dear Afeez,

thanks for your email. However, I am not so sure that you can handle this transaction in a professional way, because you did not answer the questions of my former email(s):

1. I asked you to email me a copy of your passport and to inform me about your age. So far, I did not receive anything.

2. In my last email I asked you what 'Anoda' meant? Again: no answer.

Please answer these questions before proceeding.
sincerely etc
jack breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,
v Sorry about my passport copy cos I believe I should be in the position to request that from you and I know I have nt done it so far.

Meanwhile, I am in my middle 40s and would like to know further details as I asked in my last mail to you.

I do hope that we are not engaged in email fantasies and get serious one bit with one we are discussing.

Hope to know your further requests.

Yours Afeez.

Note: "Anoda" was printers devil when I wanted to write "another".

Jack Breda

Hello Afeez,

It is certainly not my goal to get into an email fantasy. However, I do want to know for sure that you are thrustworthy and capable of handling a transaction of this magnitude. So far, the 'printers devil' has visited you twice, which is quite a lot for a professional. Anyway, I agree with the agreement you sent me and I am willing to travel to Bangkok or Dubai.
Please find a copy of my passport as attachment. I trust you will send me a copy of yours with your next email.
Please let me know what the next steps will be in finalising this deal.
Let's move on.

Best regards,
Jack Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Jack,

Thanks for your mail. I quite understood all you have said, and I have seen your attached passport copy.

I want to assure you of my capability in this my transaction arrangement with you, and i promise you of 100% risk free as we progress. And from the tone of your mail to me I believe that you capable enough to back me up. And please our ability to keep this transaction secret is going to be the success of this transaction.

I will like to know when exactly you will be ready to come to Dubai so that I will start arranging with the security company toward that very date, and to know all that will be required from us to retrieve this consignment. And you should know that as soon as i conclude with the security company here in Ghana on that same date, I will be moving to Dubai to wait for you. So get back to me on the date for me to start arranging my side.

Further step will be taken as soon as i hear from you, thanks.

Regards,
Barr.Afeez.

Jack Breda

Dear Afeez,

I am still not convinced of your ability to handle this transaction. In my last email I explicitly asked you to send me a copy of your passport. You did not even mention it in your reply! Let alone that you send me a copy. I will not do any business with someone who has not properly identified himself. Forward a copy to me within the next 24 hrs. Okay? You also denied to tell me who the person is whose name was mentioned in the contract. Please explain.

Once we have settled these details, I will make arrangements for my flight to Bangkok. Could you recommend a good hotel there?

Looking forward to your reply.

sincerely
Jack Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Brada,

Hope you got my last mail. May wonder why I did nt send my photos. I guess I am in a very difficult situation to do that since my postion is fragile at the moment. I hope you will understand me in this regard. But the assurance is that this transaction is 100% risk-free for you as there is nothing to worry about since I am in the helm of affairs here.

Once again, may I know your preparations towards coming to Dubai as I have almost concluded all arrangements with the security company for the movement of the consignment to Dubai.

Hope to hear from you before close of this day.

Thanks for your kind cooperation.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Dear Afeez,

thanks for your email. I will be able to travel to Dubai early next week. As soon as I have received a picture of you I will send you the details of the trip

Please give me details of this journey:
- how many days do I have to stay in Dubai?
- what is a good hotel?
- who am I going to meet?
- Do I need extra money?
- etc.
Looking forward to your reply and picture.

regards
Jack C Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Thanks for your mail.

As I said earlier, I am working round the clock to secure and reassign this consignment in your name which I have made reasonable progress.

All I require is to know when you are travelling to Dubai. I prefer Dubai because I have already notified the company that the next of kin is willing to travel there, and its easier for me to be also since I have once transacted business with them in same country. It will make my work easier.

By fragile in the last mail I mean that I dont know much about you even though I have seen your identity, yet I need to exercise caution in all I say and do with you right now untill I get the final convinction that you are trully my partner in this deal, and that convinction willl be when you have finally given me your schedule to travel to Dubai.

Hope you will get satisfaction in this response.

Thanks and best regards,

Yours Afeez.

Afeez Salau

Dear breda,

Thanks for your mail and sorry for the delay in response. I was trying to get in touch with the security company to finalise with them on the exact amount of clearing charges and other miscellanous expenses.

Going by their calculation, for the two years running, the total charges amounted to US$27000.

This includes handling charges with demurrages for this period of time.

Out of this amount, I have worked to reserve the sum of US$15000 which I will give my representative on his way to Dubai.

I therefore request that you arrange the sum of US$12000 when coming over.

I hereby enclose my international passport copy for your reference.

Thanks in anticipation of your kind cooperation.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Dear Afeez,

thanks for you email and the copy of your ID. This has taken away the last bit of hesitation, so I think we can go full speed now to finalise this deal. Most likeley I will be arriving in Dubai next Wednesday. However, before I make final reservations I want you to confirm that someone is going to meet me at the airport. Please let me know whether that will be you or someone else. In the latter case, please tell me who is going to meet me. Please also tell me how many days we will be needing to conclude the transaction because I need to make reservations for my return flight.

$1,200 dollar is a lot of money but I guess it is worth the deal. I do not prefer to travel with a lot of cash, but I assume my credit card and checks will be acceptable in a modern country like Dubai.

Anything else I do need to bring with me?

regards,
Jack Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Thanks for your mail and your flight information. As it were, my representative will probably arrive before you. I have a high profile political case to battle for my client in the next few weeks hence my inability to be there in person though the person representing me has done similar deals for me in the past. I only need to settle him with his commission as usual.

There should be no fears about your hotel. I will contact the manager of the company over there and probably they will recomend good hotel for you guys.

Like I wrote in my last mail, I think there is a misconception on your part. You tlked about US$1200, when I was asking for assistance of US$12000 (Twelve Thousand), having prepared US$15000 (Fifteen Thousand Dollars), on my side which my representative will travel with, bringing the total money for our charges to US$27000 (Twenty Seven Thousand Dollars).

The transaction will not last more than three days going by similar deals we have carried out in the past.

Meanwhile, I wish to state clearly here that this transaction is solely done on cash basis, as you know the nature of the business we are into. No one is ready to take chances and no one wants to leave any traces after the deal.

I therefore request that you transform all monies into as that will help facilitate the transaction very well. Again, remember we are making a movement into an Arab nation where things do not work like in the west.

Hope to get all your reactions before close of the day today.

Thanks for your kind cooperation.

Yours Afeez.

[ We're not sure what he means when he says 'things do not work like in the west'. Dubai is a big business center of the Middle East. It appears to be a handy place to send spam from. Perhaps this is why annoyed Dubai officials forward us scam-o-grams.]

Jack Breda

Afeez,

thanks for your email. $ 12,000 is indeed a lot of money, but I guess I can arrange that. Please send me a clear picture of the person who is going to meet me at the airport so that I can be sure to recognize him.

I'll be arriving on Wednesday 5 October on 4.55 AM with flight KL 429 from Amsterdam. I will make my final reservation as soon as I have received the requested picture. Please also send me the name and address of the hotel to leave behind for my family.

Please respond no later than Friday end of business day

Regards
J Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Sorry I could not reply yesterday because I was putting finishing touches to preparations for my representative journey to Dubai. His Name is Barr Steven Boosman from our chambers here.

He will arrive Dubai early hrs of tuesday via South African Airways.

The point now is that he does nt know the exact hotel to stay and our strategy in this type of situation is to stay in a low profile hotel to avoid attracting attention untill the deal is completed.

The main focus is for you to continue your arrangements the way they are, and there is no arrangement to pick you at the airport because you and Steven "must not" been seen together, regularly during the operation.

Possibly both of you may even stay in different hotels to avoid any manner of suspicion.

The Islam festival of Ramadan is starting on 4th Oct in Dubai hence our choice to do this business within this time when security is on a low alert.

I guess, Steven will call you from Dubai or bettter still I will send his telephone number across to you via email, so that as soon as you arrive, you will reach him.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Looking forward to working with you soonest.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Dear Afeez,

I have put my reservation on hold. You are not working along my requirements. It seems that you are still not able to act in a professional way. Here are my requirements which are not subject to negotiation:

1. I want to be met at the airport personally.
2. I want to have a large and clear picture of the person who is going to meet me at the airport.
3. I need the full name and address of my hotel you have made reservations for.
4. Under no circumstances I will be making or answering phone calls. Security agents all over the world put tabs on phone lines. I take my lap top PC with me, so we can use email.

I expect your confirmation and information on all 4 items today, so that I can make a final flight reservation. Please note if you don't answer today, my flight might be fully booked, in case I have to postpone my arrival.

Regards,
Jack Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

I dont have time for negotiations either. The fact that we want to carry out this deal together does nt mean I have to endanger the business relationship I have established over the years.

This is never our first time in this type of deal and may not be the end as long as some wealthy people are still impoverishing the poor masses.

We have wonderful boys that have been at our service over the years and Steve is just one hell of a wonder kid very smart in this business. Sending you his picture is not warranted at this moment unless you feel like backing out which both of us may not have much to loose in the process.

As I said earlier, I am not in Dubai, neither is Steve there, so who makes the hotel reservation and how do I know the best hotel to reserve for you?

From all inquiries, nobody asks any questions about hotel reservations in Dubai but you may chose any hotel you deem fit, provided Steve will there to provide you undercover logistics.

Telephone calls can be avoided but not definitely when you are within that city because you must communicate with the person you are working with, only that language must be critically chosen and Steve has got the language having been involved in this type of deal in the past.

For a huge success, just follow our instructions if not, I think there is

no business and we cant compromise our rules having come this far. Thanks and best regards,

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Dear Afeez,

It seems still very unprofessional to me that you are not able to send a representative to the airport to meet me. It is also very impolite not to make reservations for a hotel. I considered to cancel this transaction. However, I decided to move ahead. But there is one issues that I will not be changing: under no circumstances. I will NOT make contact by telephone. All communication should take place by email or in person. So remember: I will not make any telephone calls to people I do not know. Please confirm. I'll be arriving in Dubai according to the flight schedule I sent you earlier. As soon as I am in my hotel, I will send you an email to discuss further action.

regards
Jack

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Thanks for your mail.

We can go ahead as planned.

Just give me your hotel information when you arrive there and I will tell Steve how to reach you.

Thanks and waiting for your further communications.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,

I have changed my mind. I have been re-thinking your conditions and I just don't agree. I will only come to Dubai in case somebody will meet me at the airport and bring me to a hotel. If you are not able to arrange this, the deal will be off.

regards
Jack

Afeez Salau

Hi Breda,

I just spoke to Steve and the arrangement will be as soon as he enters Dubai on Tuesday, he will reserve a good Hotel for you.

Pls send me the exact flight details, arrival time in Dubai. Steve will pick you from the airport and straight to your hotel and also straight to business. He will rather come with your picture and your name written boldly in a placard.

This is the much I can offer as he is my only anchor there in Dubai.

If you are pleased, send the exact flight arrangement pls.

Steves Leaves early tomorrow morning.

Thanks for your time. Respond before tomorrow morning pls.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Hello Afeez,

I am preparing myself for my departure and I am looking forward to meeting you on Wednesday. Please tell Steve to use the name of Bolletjesslikkers Hier, because I already prepared a document with the same logo to present to him. He will then know I am the right person.
Make absolutely sure Steve will meet me at the gate.

regards
Jack

[ Bolletjesslikkers are 'mules', people who smuggle cocaine in their guts. ]
Jack Breda

Hi Afeez,

I sent this email from the airport. I will be boarding the plane soon. I expect Steve to meet me at 4: 55 AM tomorrow morning. Please remember if he is not there with the sign, the deal will be off. I carry about us$15,000 with me, so I have to be careful.

best regards

Jack Breda

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Steve arrived successfully and I have duelly told him all you said and how you want him to locate you.

All the best in our business, and waiting for further reports. Dont fail to communicate me munite by munite account of developments there pls.

Afeez.

[More likely 'Steve' is living in Dubai already, or is one of Afeez's alter egos. If he really did fly in from South Africa, he won't be too pleased with Afeez.]

Afeez Salau

Breda,

I think this is all a joke. I have never done this type of business with any one like this before.

Your over consciousness is becoming a source of worry to me. I should be the one to get worried about security and not you, yet here you are telling me things I cant understand.

Steve was at that Airport with the sign boldly written till 6.45 am. First you gave a wrong arrival time, and now you cant spare a munite call for him to come and meet you. what type of business arrangement is this.

If all this is a joke, pls lets put a stop to it with immediate effect.

There is even no point mailing me after taking your rest if at all you are in dubai. Steve is there for the practical thing you have gone for, call him 3981849, meet with him and take it from there.

He stays in a low profile hotel in a suburb he called Deira, in Dubai

All is in your court right now.

Wish you the best.

Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,
I waited for Steve till 6.00 but no one with a sign Bolletjesslikkers Hier was present ! I think this is very unprofessional again. Someone else approached me asking if I needed help. I dont trust him and I am afraid he followed me to the hotel. I am now in a hotel in the city and will get some sleep. I email you again later today.

I really hate this !!

Jack

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Steve just told me he was at the airport in dubai by 5.05am dot and waited till 6.45 am, yet did not see you. He however confirmed from information that your flight touched down at about 4.25am.

Perhaps you had left the airport before his arrival. He said however he reserved a hotel for you at: AVARI HOTEL, RIGGA ROAD DUBAI, Tel: 042956666.

If you are still there in dubai, just send me your hotel information and room number, Steve will be there soonest to see you or better still call him for a munite on this mobile phone he is using there 3961849.

Hope to hear from you quickly.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,

there are lots of reasons to worry about for me!! First of all there was no one waiting for me at the gate this morning. No Steve, no sign, nothing. After I cleared customs, someone approached me asking weird questions about money transactions. I tried to get rid of him but he followed me in a taxi to my hotel. I don't know if this man is Steve who wants to get in contact with me, but I feel not happy about the situation.

To make sure that everything is safe, you have to follow my requirements. I want Steve to go the Dusit Dubai Hotel at 133 Sheikh Zayed Road (this is NOT the hotel where I am staying). I want him to be there at 6:00 PM today. If everything is safe according to Steve he has to hold a red balloon in his hand. In case he thinks there are suspicious people around he should release the balloon at once. I will walk alongside the hotel between 6 and 6:30. In case I see someone with a red balloon, I know it is safe to approach him. If I don't see a man with a red balloon, I will go back to my hotel and contact you again.

I tried to call Steve directly to instruct him, but the number seems not to be working.

I will take the money with me tonight, so make sure Steve can conclude the business tonight. I trust you will be able to carry out this simple procedure, otherwise you jeopardize the whole transaction. Please confirm that Steve will be present at 6 PM.

Jack Breda

Afeez Salau

Jack,

I think this has entered into a mind game hence I have ordered Steve to reconfirm his ticket and fly back to South Africa.

I have my suspicion that you are a secret agent looking for money laundrers hence I cant trust you any more.

Meanwhile if you are geniune, call Steve on 3961849. You must follow his own instructions otherwise, he is set to come home while I make arrangement for another person we could use his account to push the funds out of Dubai.

Thanks.

Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,

can I still trust you? Where are you???

Jack

Afeez Salau

Jack,

Be straight forward with us if you are not an agent of government of dubai.

which hotel are you and why did you refuse the hotel Steve prepared for u?

Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,

what kind of nonsense is this??? Steve failed to meet me at the airport, as I explicitly requested. I asked you earlier to book a hotel for me but you refused to do so. I only found out later that Steve made reservations but that was after I checked in the Burj al Arab hotel.

It is unbelievable that you think that I am a secret agent. I assume you watched too many James Bond movies !

I tried to call Steve but his phone or his number is not working. I therefore proposed to meet him yesterday in person and I explained a very simple procedure with the red balloon to see if everything was safe. Apparently it was not or Steve did not show up.

I'll be flying back tomorrow night, so we have one more chance to meet. I want Steve to go to the bar of the Burj Al Arba hotel at 8:00 PM tonight. He has to order 2 VSOP French cognac and two Davidoff cigars. I will be present there as well. As soon as I see a man ordering these drinks and cigars, I will make myself present. Make sure that Steve is wearing a yellow shirt, so that I can recognise him easily.

Once we have met we can go to my room, to finalise the deal and to transfer the money. I have the money in my room vault, so it will be very easy to conclude everything.

I finally hope that Steve and you will follow my instructions this time. I am looking forward to seeing Steve tonight. I try to reach Steve one more time by phone.

jack breda

Afeez Salau

Breda,

In as much I want to business with you, I cant risk the life of my agent Steven. He is a professional in this kind of business. I have said this for several times.

Ring Steven on 3961849 and if this is not enough for you, pls let call it quits.

If your are sincere give me your hotel phone number and room number and I will confirm from here in South Africa and then tell Steve to meet you.

I am however sorry for the inconveniences caused you.

Yours Afeez.

Note: The money I asked from you is too important, what is my ultimate concern is moving my funds out of UAE.

Jack Breda

Dear Afeez,

I am very glad that you finally responded. I am still in Dubai. I decided to stay here for a couple of more days, because I see some good business opportunities. I am still willing to meet Steve. However, the receptionist of my hotel told me that someone has asked for me. Of course, I have checkedunder another name, but I asked the receptionist to call me when someone made inquiriesfor Jack Breda. This means that I have to be very prudent.

I refer to my last email. Please ask Steve to come to the bar of the Burj Al Arab hotel and order 2 French VSOP cognacs and 2 Davidoff cigars. He has to be there Saturday afternoon between 2 and 3 PM. I will introduce myself to him. Ask him to wear a swimming trunck and a pink T shirt, so that there can not be a misstake.

Again, Afeez, you failed several times to follow the instructions. Please do this time and we can finalise the trnsactions. I do need the money !!

Jack Breda

Email sent from the Burj Al Arab hotel << Internet room

Afeez Salau

Dear Breda,

Thanks for your mail.

Like I told you, I still stand my ground of not getting Steve into trouble because right now, i dont know how to trust you.

The last option I am giving you for this business is that you should pay the charges straight to the company account and then as soon as they confirm receipt of the money within 24 hrs, Steve will carry on with all your intructions thereby knowing that you are geniune.

If you dont accept this option, pls go ahead with other business opportunities you have seen in Dubai.

Thanks and regards.

Yours Afeez.

Jack Breda

Afeez,

once again you failed to follow my simple request. I waited in the bar of the hotel and no one showed up. You ask me to pay the charges directly to the company account. Well, I am willing to pay them in cash to Steve, who is representing the company, isn't he?? Why doesn't he show up? Are you sure you can trust Steve??

I will make it very easy to you........tell me where I have to go to meet Steve. I will be there at the time you request. We will do business and finally conclude this transaction. Just give me an address and and a date/time. Please include a picture of Steve so I can recognize him.

Jack

Email sent from the Burj Al Arab hotel << Internet room

Afeez Salau

Hi Breda,

The game should be up by now. Steve is not representing the company, rather he is representating me to sign agreements and other documents with you on my behalf. And to ensure the funds properly moved out of dubai.

Since it has turned this way, pay the charges directly to the company as Steve did on arrival or forget the business.

I may not be able to reply your further mails cos I am tired of this email fantasy in order not to loose focus on what I am pursuing.

All the same, thanks for your time. Afeez.

Jack Breda

Hello Afeez,

this will be my last email to you. I want to explain a few things. So please sit back and enjoy the ride.

A few weeks ago you sent me an email telling me that I could earn a lot of money. I only had to do a few simple things. My father always teached me: if things seem too good to be true, they are too good to be true. So was your proposal. From moment one I knew your proposal was fake. No one would ever believe that you would pay me millions of dollars, which were just waiting for me. I knew you were a fraudster. You still are.

I decided I could do 2 things: 1) either throw your proposal away or 2) make fun with you. I decided for option 2. And to be honest Afeez, I had a lot of fun. Fun in making you believe that I would accept your proposal. Fun in making you believe I would do everything you asked.

It was also very funny that you asked me to come to Dubai. The nice thing was that the KLM flight arrived very early in the morning. So you, or Steve, or both had to go to the airport and had to wait for someone who was not on board. Frustrating, wasn't it? You also held up a sign with Bolletjesslikkers Hier. I told you it was the name of an oil company. It is not. It means: I am waiting for drug smugglers. The nice thing is that I asked someone to make a picture of the man holding the sign. A very clear picture. No, I am not going to send you this picture. Ihave forwarded it to the FBI and to the Dubai Police. I also gave them your telephone number (971-50-3961849). They were very happy with that.

It was also very funny that Steve had to stand in front of the hotel with a balloon. Hot day, wasn't it? Jee, and Jack was not showing up. Of course not, Jack was at home, drink a cold beer and sending email messages to you. Signed with "sent from the Burj Al Arab Hotel". Of course, you or Steve visited this hotel to look for me.

How did the cognac and the cigars taste? You had to pay for them of course, but Jack didn't show up. You now know why.

Afeez, I had a lot of fun. But the fun is not over yet. I am going to forward your email message to your email provider. You will be cut off in a few days time. I willalso send all our emails toa special web site, which contains similar stories of clever people making fun of stupid 419 fraudster. It is a lot of fun to read these stories. Let me be honest; you are not the stupidest scammer around. You are stupid of course, very stupid, but some people are even more stupid. But people all over the world will get to know your name. And they will have a good time reading how stupid you are.

There is a good chance that you will be picked up by the law enforcement authorities in your country in the next couple of weeks. If I were you, I would not sleep very comfortable any more. But that is the price you have to pay for trying to rob other people. Just fair, don't you agree?

Well, Afeez, I hope you will fail in doing what you pursue.

Thanks again for the good time, MUGU !!

Jack Breda
